Hamas Again

Will Hamas finally eat itself? At what point will the Palestinian people stand up and remove this pestilence from inside their fields of ripe harvest?

'In Jerusalem, a Sharon ally in the Cabinet said the evacuation of Jewish
settlements in Gaza could begin by the end of the year, or several months ahead of schedule.
The initial plan called for a withdrawal from Gaza and four small West Bank settlements in four stages, to be completed by September 2005.
Each phase was to be presented to the Cabinet for approval.
With opposition mounting in Likud and in the Cabinet, Sharon is pushing for a swifter withdrawal. He also hopes to weaken settler resistance by making early advance payments on compensation that would encourage many of the 8,000 Gaza settlers to
leave voluntarily, according to Sharon officials, who spoke on condition of
anonymity.'

With Sharon giving something, anything, to these people in order to preserve a majority of Jewish votes (due to generational demographics that would eventually make the Jewish population the minority in its own country) - Hamas again makes its true and non-relenting purpose known. The destruction of Israel.

Why do we not have peacekeepers on the ground here? Why are France and Germany sitting on the sidelines while dozens die by month? Bring on the vaunted UN.

The Delegate Question

Last night my Bean asked, "Why aren't we in the... Repub Nan Conv... in New York?"

The Bean, my daughter, being six, didn't fully understand that not all Republicans can venture into the mecca of the promiseland, one must be a delegate or a member of the press. So, I promised her that within the next four years, our goal would be to get to the next convention.

She really doesn't understand what that means. But the Bean knows that Daddy is a Republican and even though the Wife is a hardcore liberal, she tends to side with my viewpoints (not even knowing them.) Who am I to dissuade such sage thinking at such an early age?

Here we are then; this blog will be about politics, family, and literature. I'm sure the social yearnings of the Wife mixed with the idealogy of a modern American family will bleed through, so please, permit me my excesses into the land of moderation - sometimes trespasses must be had in order to truly understand the boundaries.

As for the Bean and her question, most of it is answered here. We'll have decide if we want to try to go the press route, or the delegate route in the future.
